Building Food Confidence a Bite at a Time:  Educational Strategies for Nutrition Educators

Nutrition professionals know only too well that you cannot ask a client to jump from sweet corn to kale without an objection. We also know that taste and presentation trumps nutrition every time!  In this session, we’ll work with a series of tools and culinary approaches that build food awareness and food confidence from a sensory, versus nutrition perspective. Participate in an active taste experience and learn how to recommend foods based on taste or flavor perception. Work with a flexible low/no cook culinary framework that allows clients to try new foods with confidence. Use simple nutrition roadmaps to promote new food ideas in your client’s comfort zone.  Brainstorm educational challenges and find simple solutions.
