Linking Clinical Voices to the Chef’s Choices

Clinicians and chefs work in different spaces in the institutional setting. Clinicians rarely set foot in the kitchen and chefs never appear on the floor!  And yet both are connected through food. Food provides the substrates through which the body heals and the Nutrition Prescription is the authorizing tool. In this session, we’ll evaluate the nutrition prescription through the mind of the chef and the clinician. Using actual case studies, prescriptions and participant input, we’ll create a series of educational “roadmaps” that integrate clinical thinking with culinary solutions. Participants will be able to use this roadmap strategy to create customized, branded educational materials reflecting in-house clinical and culinary expertise for patients.
