A Latin culinary-cultural foodways workshop designed for accredited food, nutrition and health professionals who work with, or are planning to work with, the dynamic and vibrant Latin American community in America today. Through this program we aspire to bring together professionals from all races and ethnicities to share in nourishing food preparation and meaningful dialog on common ground.

  • Learn culinary and cultural similarities and differences between Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.

  • Visit a Latin market. Learn about, and shop for ingredients you will be using in your culinary experience during this day.

  • In the kitchen, work in bilingual groups to prepare a wide variety of foods and dishes reflecting culinary-cultural diversity across Latin America.

  • Explore, converse, learn and eat together.

  • Share challenges, successes. Ask questions. Find solutions.

Instruction will be in both English and Spanish. Knowledge of Spanish is not required to participate.
